Space Oddity from International Space Station

Commander Chris Hadfield clearly got the audio pre-recorded before going up into space.. but I’m yet curious if the guitar would make any sound or resonate similar frequencies as tuned on earth. We know sound does not travel in vacuum space but within the space shuttle itself, there’s air but less gravity..

Ground Control to Major Tom. Can you pluck a C Chord and let us hear what it sounds like from up there? If microphones and its condensers/diaphragm can pick up austronaut’s speech to be transmitted back down to earth I guess he could actually play guitar all the same? Eitherwise why’d he even bother bring that capo along right. Oh wait.. maybe just to get that music video looking as normal as it can be..

A revised version of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, recorded by Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station.
