Suunto Ambit2 S R software updated to v2.0 (Features + Fixes)

NOTE: 
If you plan update your unit. Be sure to sync all logged exercises before running the M sync update via Moveslink 2.
It will wipe all previous logged exercises. Other saved datas like Routes,POIs and Custom Sports Mode are well retained.

    Hello,

    This morning after my training I wanted to synchronize with moveslink2, he proposed me to install the new firmware version 2.07. During installation to about 50% the watch displays the symbol SUUNTO but after it stops and displays “error to synchronize parameter” and a small diagram on the watch. If I disconnected the watch there is nothing on the screen even earlier. You will find enclosed the outputlog in which we see an error file.
    It seems that the installation does not go through.

    I have a race in 3 days can you help me thank you in advance

    • Not sure with the issue on hand. Have you tried resetting the watch and then running the update again after fresh start?

      Without USB connected, hold down the “Back” (Top Left) and “Start” (Top Right) buttons at the same time for about 11 seconds.
      The service menu comes up. Click on “Action” and you should see “GPS Reset” and “Power off” option.

      I’d reset GPS and then Power Off.

      You can then Start the watch again by connecting the USB connection with New Startup Wizard if needed.

      Not sure if it’d work. But worth a shot.

    • This is a guess from the debug output.

      1. The firmware update completed successfully.
      2. It then attempted to restore your settings.
      3. It appears to fail restoring “custom modes” ([ERROR] BluebirdDevice::saveCustomModes).
      4. I would try restoring to factory defaults via the web portal making sure there are no custom modes. Then force a settings update via moves link, and hopefully since there will be no custom modes to load on then you will not get this error.
      5. If that works, then try recreating the custom mode. The previous custom mode perhaps refers to some parameter available in the previous firmware which is no longer available in this firmware. Alternatively the flash might just be screwed.

    • Sorry that it didn’t work. Best to get Suunto support then. They’re normally pretty fast with responses. Hope you can update us if you find a working solution. Gd luck!
